Eva Braun's gift to Adolf Hitler will sell for $99,000

Eva Braun's gift to Adolf Hitler will sell for $99,000
A pencil that was given to Adolf Hitler in 1941 is expected to sell for $99,000. It was a birthday present from his wife Eva Braun.

The silver-plated initial pencil has an inscription in German ending with "Eva" and the initials "AH". An item that, according to representatives of Bloomfield Auctions in East Belfast, reveals details of the personal life of the leader of the National Socialist German Workers' Party, the Reich Chancellor, the Führer and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the German Armed Forces.
Carl Bennett, managing director of the auction house, expects the item to generate considerable interest from collectors. After all, Hitler's personal relationships during his dictatorship were carefully concealed. The "father" of the German nation rejected any personal ties in favor of loyalty to his country. A gift from Eva Braun is a token of love that exposes the deception behind Hitler's publicity.

Other items to be auctioned in early June include an original signed photograph of Hitler and a rare handwritten pardon from Queen Victoria dated 1869 to Irish rebels convicted of treason.
According to the auctioneers, such objects should be treated as things that preserve a piece of the past, historical objects, regardless of whether the history they refer to was one of the darkest and most controversial.
