The National Bank presented an updated 20 hryvnia banknote
In an effort to improve the security and aesthetics of the Ukrainian currency, the National Bank of Ukraine has officially announced the introduction of an updated 20 hryvnia banknote into circulation.

The updated banknote is supplemented with the signature of the head of the National Bank Andrey Pyshny and the year of issue. According to the law, the signature of the current head of the NBU must be placed on banknotes that are put into circulation as part of the planned issue.

Worn and damaged 20-hryvnia banknotes will be replaced with new ones, 2018 model. They will be in circulation along with other banknotes of the same denomination from previous years of issue.

The updated banknotes went into circulation on October 24, 2023.

Typically, the launch of updated banknotes in the financial world is carried out for several reasons.

First of all, to improve security, as counterfeiting is still a concern, and the enhanced security features of the new banknotes provide a higher level of protection against fraud.

The introduction of the updated banknotes reflects confidence in the stability and future of the economy, sending a positive signal to investors.

Also, modern and reliable banknotes instill greater confidence in the country's citizens in the currency and financial system, encouraging their use in daily transactions and savings.
