In the "Scale Models" section of Violity, bidding continues for a rare example of model aircraft creativity - a 1:7 scale radio-controlled mini-copy of the "Bee".
The AN-14, affectionately nicknamed "Bee", was developed in the mid-20th century at the Oleg Antonov Design Bureau. This lightweight twin-engine aircraft with short takeoff and landing was designed for multi-purpose use and adapted for off-airport operation on unprepared ground sites.

The airplane took off for the first time on March 14, 1958, from the airfield in Sviatoshyno, with Volodymyr Izheim at the helm. Soon after, the aircraft was demonstrated to the general public: it happened in the summer of that year in Kyiv at an exhibition of national economic achievements.
Serial production of the AN-14 was launched at the Arseniyivka Progress plant. It lasted from 1965 to 1970, with a total of 340 airplanes produced.

The author of the model is Oleh Kalinin, the son of pilot Volodymyr Kalinin, who tested Antonov aircraft (including the AN-14) from 1953 to 1973. As a leading design engineer at the company, Oleh Volodymyrovych dedicated his life to improving the cockpits of non-toy airplanes.

Recreating airplanes on a small scale is his main hobby. All of Kalinin's creations are made from scratch, some of them have participated in numerous competitions, and some can be seen in the exposition of the Antonov Folk Museum.

The weight of this unique toy airplane is 9680 g, the wingspan is 2845 mm. The auction will last for several more days.
