Over the past week, the attention of connoisseurs of ancient icons has been focused on the richly decorated image of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Hundreds of people have been following the lot, and the price offer has reached six figures.
St. Nicholas of Myra is a saint who is venerated by representatives of all Christian denominations. He is especially popular in Ukraine. A century ago, an icon of the Miracle Worker could be seen in almost every home. Ukrainians believed that this saint saved them from captivity, helped them in trouble, protected children, and took care of those who suffered injustice. Today, people from every corner of the country also turn to him. Most often, they ask for victory and peace.
This Orthodox icon, dating from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, is dressed in extremely skillfully crafted rich silver robes.
The size of the image is 31×26.5 cm. The salary is made of 84-carat silver and decorated with cloisonné enamels of exquisite colors.

Bidding for the lot started on November 27. During this time, users have already made four dozen bids, and the price offer reached 41,0001 UAH.
By the way, this icon of St. Nicholas may well become the most expensive of the images of the saint sold in the relevant section in recent years. One of the previous price record holders was an image in silver vestments with gilding, for which at the end of January this year, the price was significantly less - 220000 UAH.
