Wrong: coins were issued in Lithuania, which numismatists are chasing
Accidents are not accidental. Or is it still random? The commemorative coin dedicated to the Žuvintė Biosphere Reserve, issued in Lithuania a year ago, has become a stumbling block for many numismatists.

Why is this 2 euro coin so popular? And all because of the fact that some of these releases have an inscription in Latvian instead of Lithuanian.

Apparently, this is a banal mistake that was made during minting. The employees of the Lithuanian Mint simply mixed up the stencils and the inscription Dievs, svētī Latviju (“God bless Latvia”) appeared on a part of the issue, which was embossed on the edge.

Of course, this situation was not left like that. And the main Lithuanian bank turned to the Lithuanian Mint, demanding an explanation. It turned out that the inscription in Latvian adorns about 10% of the coins, which came out with a total circulation of 5,000 pieces. It turned out that in total about 500 “wrong” coins were issued.

But for numismatists, this story turned out to be on hand. Especially for those who are interested in the marriage of coins. If commemorative coins from this series could be bought in a bank for 3.5-4 euros, then collectors are ready to pay from 1,500 to 2,000 euros for items with an error.

That's a mistake, you say...
