The rarest denarius in memory of the best of the emperors

Today we present to you the denarius minted at the beginning of the reign of Emperor Hadrian in memory of his predecessor, Emperor Marcus Ulpia Trajan, whom all subsequent generations of Romans considered the best emperor.

The future emperor Trajan was born in southern Spain, his father was a senator. Starting at the age of 21, Trajan, thanks to his successes, was adopted by Emperor Nerva. Having ascended the throne, Trajan defeated the main enemies of the Rimadaks and the Parthian Empire during several military campaigns. His legions reached the Persian Gulf, and the territory of the empire under Trajan reached its maximum size. On his return from the Parthian campaign, Trajan died on the way. His nephew Adrian became the emperor.
