The reaction of art to the war: the exhibition "Ukrainian Wartime Poster" opened in Kyiv

The exhibition in Kyiv was organized by the efforts of the Ukrainian House and the Pictoric Illustrators Club. This is an expressive reaction of creative people to what is happening in their country.

More than 100 posters by 38 artists are presented in three exhibition halls. The works help artists, illustrators, designers to stand on the front of the information war. They call military posters one of the types of struggle in wartime.

Since the beginning of Russia's armed invasion of the territory of Ukraine, many artists have clearly voiced their positions: they decided to talk about the war without distancing. Their works have turned into voices of "resistance" at public actions in the cities of Ukraine and the world. It caused a ripple effect in the media, social media.

The choice of such a format of creativity as a poster was not made by chance. It is he who is considered the most concise form of dialogue. Messages that quickly "scatter" through the streets of cities.

The posters of Ukrainian artists, illustrators and designers support morale, inspire a sense of unity, and make it clear that we are not alone in our pain.

Recall that a poster is understood as a kind of applied printed graphics, a large-format print edition. As a rule, it contains advertising, agitation and propaganda, instructive and methodological, educational and other information.
