About six months ago, one of the most prominent museums of automotive history, the Peter Mullin Museum, closed. After the death of the owner, a gradual sale of the exhibits of the collection began. Vintage Bugatti, rare Delage and Voisin, as well as exclusive Citroens went off the hammer.
For several decades, Peter Mullin has amassed an extraordinary collection of cars and made it available to the public. However, in September 2023, Peter Mullin passed away, and the successors made the difficult decision to close the museum. This led to a large-scale sale of the collection. Part of this unique collection appeared at the Gooding & Company auction.

At the auction, 20 cars were exhibited, the total value of which exceeded $4,000,000. Most of the exhibits were of French production. Race cars include a 1925 Bugatti Type 35C and a 1946 Delage D6 Gran Prix. No less rare are the 1931 Bugatti Type 49 and the 1948 Delahaye 135 MS.
Also sold were rare versions of the Citroen DS with exclusive bodies from the Chapron atelier, the cost of which ranged from $125,000 to $190,000.

Avions Voisin cars, manufactured in the 1930s, are also among the rare exhibits.
All exhibits of the collection have been restored and are on the move.
Although these sales reflect the sad event of the closure of the famous car museum, they celebrate the legacy of Peter Mullin and his passion for automotive culture. Each sold car is a unique object of memories that continues to live in the hearts of collectors around the world.
