Unexpected creativity: designers turn old things into design masterpieces
In the world of design, sometimes the most unusual objects become the source of the brightest ideas. Marijke and Sander Lucas are a creative tandem from the Netherlands that transforms ordinary objects into design masterpieces. They use candlesticks, lamps, tables, mirrors and many other things that are no longer used for their intended purpose.

Mariyke and Sander are not only designers, but also collectors of a wide variety of objects. They find inspiration in ordinary things that seem forgotten or unnecessary. Taking these objects, they create something completely new and extraordinary from them.
One of their projects is a chandelier made of cups. A well-known object of kitchen use, a cup, is transformed into an elegant interior accessory. Another project is candle holders made from wine bottles that would normally be thrown away.

"We are collectors. We are inspired by old things we find," the designers explain. "We like to combine materials and objects that, at first glance, are not compatible to create something new and unexpected."
In their works, you can see a unique combination of functionality, aesthetics and history. Each item they create has its own special feature that tells a story and adds character to it.

Over the years, Mariyke and Sander Lucas have created a unique style that impresses with its originality. Their works not only decorate the interior, but also inspire others to look at familiar things from a new perspective.
