Truskavets at the beginning of the 20th century in the drawings of Tadeusz Rybkowski

The city of Truskavets, known for its healing springs and resort atmosphere, historically had a rich and colorful picture of the life of its inhabitants. Thanks to the drawings of the Polish illustrator Tadeusz Rybkowski, we have a unique opportunity to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of this city more than a century ago.

Tadeusz Rybkowski, born in 1848 in Kielce, gained wide recognition as a talented illustrator and artist. In 1893, he settled in Lviv, where he was invited to the State Industrial School as a professor of decorative painting. He also founded a private painting school for women, contributing to the development and popularization of art among the masses.

Rybkovsky's Truskavets is reflected in its colorful beauty. He successfully captured the architectural details, streetscapes and everyday life of the city.

The artist's drawings show that Truskavets was then a rather small town, but at the same time quite lively and colorful. Many of the buildings had the traditional architecture of the time, with peaked roofs, massive walls and large windows. The streets were narrow, with rows of houses and trees.

One of the pictures shows the streets of the city where there is live traffic. Others are healing springs, where people gathered for recovery and relaxation.

Although these drawings were created over a century ago, they remain an important source for better understanding what life was like in Truskavets in the past. They help preserve the city's heritage and learn about its history and culture.
